We might not choose cancer but we can choose how we respond to the many challenges of living with it, developing a sense of peace and possibility.
This is a wonderful opportunity to experience the proven benefits of mindfulness and meditation alongside other people living with cancer and facing similar challenges.
Discover through the teaching and short meditation practices how mindfulness helps us:-
relate to illness, pain and stress in a new way that breaks the cycle of suffering
take notice and live in the moment rather than being lost in worries about the future
cultivate an attitude of kindness and gentleness toward ourselves and our limits
connect with others and see that everyone struggles in their lives
There will be practical tips and simple tools to take away and use in daily life and we will look at ways to take it forward including websites, books and courses.
The event will be hosted by Clare McLusky an experienced mindfulness teacher with a very gentle and compassionate approach. As well as teaching to people living with cancer, she teaches on the public courses at Oxford Mindfulness Centre. She is registered on the UK Network of Mindfulness teachers and has been practising mindfulness in her own life since treatment for cancer 10 years ago. She writes a blog on mindfulness for Yes to Life.
This is a taster session and if you are inspired to take it further, Clare is teaching an 8 week course starting Tuesday 2nd May at the same venue.
As this venue is a private location in North Oxford, please contact Yes to Life for venue details on either 0203 222 0587 or firstname.lastname@example.org
