Wendelien McNicoll
Profile:
Mrs McNicoll is a non-judgemental, empathic, discreet, congruent, kind and experienced counsellor, who deeply respects that first difficult step you have taken in seeking counselling. Sometimes words fail and she may introduce other ways for you to express how you feel or to say the unsayable, especially if you a struggling with a diagnosis. She offers general counselling, living-with-illness counselling, palliative counselling and bereavement counselling, These can be held where you are because sessions are scheduled around you and how you are feeling, and may even be by telephone. You may feel slightly taken aback by the intensity of all the feelings that can arise. This is where a non judgemental counsellor and a safe place to talk is really helpful. Good communication at this time gives people real peace of mind. You or your loved ones can be overwhelmed by strong feelings, such as anger, fear, loneliness, grief, resignation, regrets and why me questions. These feelings hinder clear thinking and take up valuable energy. Qualifications: Dip. Counselling MBACP (Accred) Dip. Supervision.
Notes:
Wendelien McNicoll is one of a group of individual cancer counsellors and psychotherapists in the UK who have been specially selected by Yes to Life on the basis of their suitability. All of this group are fully qualified and insured and have a minimum of 2 years experience of working with and supporting cancer patients and their relatives. When choosing a therapist, apart from confidence in their experience, it is always important to check that you feel comfortable with them.
