Positive Action on Cancer

Positive Action on Cancer (PAC) is a free professional one-to-one counselling service for anyone affected by a diagnosis of cancer or another life threatening illness. This includes any family, friends and carers as well as patients. Positive Action on Cancer also offers bereavement counselling. The counselling staff at PAC are professionally trained, experienced and adhere to the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) or alternative professional body. They offer adult counselling at venues in Frome, Bath, Warminster, Trowbridge and Weston-super-Mare, children’s counselling in Frome, and counselling for young people at Frome Community College.

Positive Action on Cancer was founded in 1994 initially as a telephone helpline for women affected by breast cancer by Jill Miller. In 1998 research indicated the need for a counselling service rather than a telephone helpline.

Effective from 1st April 2014, Positive Action on Cancer became a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO).
