Y Rhosyn Cancer Support Day Unit

The Y Rhosyn Cancer Support Day Unit at Neath Port Talbot Hospital was set up in 1999 to help patients, their families and their carers from the Neath and Port Talbot area who are experiencing cancer. They are a day centre funded by the NHS and donations which offers counselling and complementary relaxation therapies, including reiki, reflexology and massage. They are a nurse-led unit (all nurses are community nurses) and are also supported by volunteers. They also have a physiotherapist, occupational therapist, dietitian, social worker and access to welfare rights.

You would need to be referred by your GP or other health professional and then have an initial appointment to discuss and assess which treatments are best suited to your needs.

The unit won three awards in the 2008/09 Neath Port Talbot Borough in Bloom competition.
