Founder of Move Dance Feel, a creative project for women affected by cancer, Emily has been exploring the relationship between dance and cancer for 4 years. She works in partnership with leading cancer support Centres, integrating dance into their care programmes, and in this talk will offer you an insight into her practice as well as share extraordinary research findings.
More about Emily
Emily has worked within participatory dance for over ten years and is specialised in the area of Dance and Health. She works with a range of dance, arts and health organisations, including Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance and English National Ballet, and often presents at national and international conferences.
In 2016 she founded Move Dance Feel, a Community Interest Company offering dance to women affected by cancer, and is now working in partnership with leading cancer support Centres to incorporate dance into their care programmes. She is also a member of the International Association of Dance Medicine and Science and has an active role on their Dance for Health committee.
Emily graduated with a BA (Hons) degree in Performing Arts, Culture and Communication from Oxford Brookes University, receiving the Keith Andrews prize for excellence in Performing Arts. Following which she gained a Postgraduate Diploma in Community Dance and a Masters degree in Creative Practice from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. In 2020 she was chosen to be a Winston Churchill Fellow.
