Exploring the essential, often forgotten, element of healing

Positive steps are being taken in the world of Integrative Medicine, including the area of oncology, and increasingly we understand that an effective journey of recovery requires attention directed towards not only our physical, but also our psychological wellbeing. There is, however, something vital missing from most integrative health narratives, an element without which any recovery programme cannot be said to be truly holistic.
This essential but forgotten element is spirit. Spirit means many things to many people but in its widest context refers to the life force that animates every aspect of our bodies, our minds and indeed our entire lives. Spirit constantly informs us of our deeper connection to Life and this, in turn, leads us to greater purpose and meaning. And yet, despite the fact that our ‘will to live’ is clearly so fundamental to our existence, many of us do a good job of completely ignoring its presence.
There is an ancient knowing that tending to spirit is fundamental in the process of healing. Spirit means many things to many people but in its widest context refers to the life force that animates every aspect of our being. When we are connected to spirit we have a deeper connection to Life, which, in turn, leads us to greater purpose and meaning.
In This conference, there will be discussions of how reconnecting to spirit can enhance healing of our bodies and minds, and how we can find a connection that feels true to our own beliefs and values.
We will explore the state of being that brings us closer to spirit and how acceptance of ‘what is’ releases us from much of the pain of everyday living.
Most importantly, we will encourage a sense of deep connection throughout the day that will grant a direct experience of the benevolent force that holds and heals us in every moment once we open our hearts and allow.
