Sue Young Cancer Support provides cancer support for all, practical and emotional, to local cancer patients from the time a diagnosis is made.
Helen Webb was a local cancer patient who passed away in 1993 at the age of 29. After her death, her family pledged to raise money to ensure that all cancer patients in Leicestershire and Rutland had access to emotional support and information.
The Trust set up in Helen’s memory purchased Helen Webb House on Westleigh Road, Leicester in 1999, providing a base for Sue Young Cancer Support to provide services and support to local people and their families.
The Centre has an have an open-door policy in order to make access to the services as trouble-free as possible. They continuously recruit new volunteers who are able to assist patients with differing needs and languages.
