Helen Rollason Cancer Support Centre
Profile:
Helen Rollason's vision to provide better emotional support for cancer patients has led to the foundation of the Helen Rollason Cancer Support Centres in Essex, London and Hertfordshire. In an environment of peace and tranquillity, complementary therapies (such as massage, aromatherapy and reflexology which may help with the side effects of chemotherapy), counselling and support groups are all available. The centres in Essex (Springfield) and Hertfordshire also provide manual lymph drainage, a service rarely available on the NHS. The support centres are for patients with all types of cancer at all stages: whether newly diagnosed, or longer term, throughout treatment and after treatment is completed. Their centres have a drop-in policy where visitors are welcome to come in and relax in the lounge without an appointment. All clients are given an initial assessment before commencing treatment. All the services provided at their cancer support centres are wholly funded by the Helen Rollason Cancer Charity and provided free of charge to clients.
