Hospice of St Francis (The)

The Hospice of St Francis strongly believes that complementary therapies can work together with medical and nursing care to improve a patient’s well-being, reduce anxiety and to help cope with their illness. They have a team of volunteer therapists who work in their Spring Centre inpatient unit and outpatient clinics, offering a range of therapies. They discuss which therapy might help the most and about the benefits of each treatment. Most of their therapists are volunteers, specifically trained in their therapy, fully insured and managed by their Complementary Therapy Coordinator. Their care is also available beyond the Hospice building, in the home, in local hospitals and nursing homes. Their catchment area extends from Amersham, Chesham and the Chalfonts to Tring, Berkhamsted, Hemel Hempstead, St Albans, Harpenden and surrounding villages.
