Manx Cancer Help

Manx Cancer Help is a charity, founded by Eve Berridge in 1983. They support anyone affected by cancer, from diagnosis, or undergoing treatment, to post treatment, recurrence, end of life or in bereavement. They also welcome family and friends, as they are often deeply affected by cancer too. Everything provided is free of charge, so visitors can feel welcome to access their support for as long as they need it. There are opportunities to talk informally to Centre staff and to book sessions with Complementary Therapists (providing Reiki) or join a yoga class or relaxation group.

All classes and groups will be run by qualified professionals who understand the needs of people who have a cancer diagnosis or have recently begun or completed treatment. Manx Cancer Help offers a series of free, confidential sessions, both face to face and over the phone to anyone affected by a cancer diagnosis. You do not need a doctor’s referral and they try to keep waiting time to a minimum. All clients will be seen by a counsellor within three weeks and a Consultant Clinical Psychologist within five weeks. They can provide specialist emotional and psychological support in line with NICE (National Institute for Clinical Excellence). This is delivered by fully trained and accredited staff in the specialist field of psycho-oncology.
