The Oxygen Therapy Centre is a registered self-funding charity, providing High Dose Oxygen Treatment (HDOT) and Electromagnetic Therapy.
High Dose Oxygen Treatment involves breathing pure oxygen at higher than atmospheric pressures in an enclosed chamber. This process cause’s oxygen to be absorbed by all body fluids and by all body cells and tissues, even those with blocked or reduced blood flow. This increased flow of oxygen stimulates and restores function to damaged cells and organs, including those of the liver and brain.
Oxygen Therapy is used as an adjunct therapy when cancer patients are having chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Oxygen under hyperbaric conditions may enhance the delivery of oxygen to hypoxic tumour cells, thereby increasing their sensitivity to radiation and chemotherapy.
Electromagnetic Therapy produces gentle, low induction impulses which correspond to the strength of the earth‘s magnetic field, it is suitable for everyone – from babies to the very old and infirm.
The East Antrim Therapy Centre was formed in Larne in 1988 by families needing locally based treatment for loved ones with Multiple Sclerosis. In 2002, a generous offer from Lafarge Cement to use their old offices at Magheramorne resulted in the centre moving to the current premises. and renaming the centre as The Oxygen Therapy Centre.
