Dr Maki Takashima is a Certified Functional Medicine practitioner, a licensed naturopathic doctor and the founder of Natural Holistic Wellness Center. Dr Takashima holds a Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University.
During her time at Bastyr University, Dr Takashima learned Naturopathic Medicine from well-known physicians in the field such as Josseph Pizzorno, co-founder of Bastyr University and author of Textbook of Natural Medicines, Jane Guiltinan, former president of American Association of Naturopathic Physicians, and Bill Mitchell, a botanical educator, co-founder of Bastyr Uuniversity and author of Plant Medicine and Practice.
As a naturopathic doctor, Maki Takashima believes in creating strong relationships with her patients, knowing who her patients are, assisting them in understanding the underlying cause of their symptoms, and offering holistic, natural treatments specifically designed for each unique individual.
Dr Takashima is a member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians and California Naturopathic Doctors Association. She is a certified FirstLine Therapy practitioner, a therapeutic lifestyle modification programme designed by healthcare professionals. She’s also a member of the Institute of Functional Medicine and actively participating in their courses.
