At the close of 2018, the Alliance for Natural Health – of which Rob Verkerk is the Executive & Scientific Director – published an extraordinary document: A Blueprint for Health System Sustainability in the UK. It’s a visionary and comprehensive look at our healthcare system, its many issues, and the ways in which a bottom-up approach to reform can transform the health of Britain. While looking to harness the recognised strengths of our NHS, it also directly faces its immense shortcomings in tackling chronic diseases like cancer, and identifies the underlying drivers of this continuing failure. It addresses these issues with a carefully structured strategy for a grass roots revolution in the way that public health is viewed and managed.
