Derry Well Women is a not-for-profit centre which offers health and social care services to women of all ages in a welcoming, relaxed, safe and confidential space.
Derry Well Women leads the development of programmes for women living with life threatening illnesses such as cancer, including cancer counselling, a fortnightly cancer support group, a 2-day complementary therapy programme and an 8-week Well Programme.
Cancer Support Group The cancer support group is open to all women living with a cancer diagnosis and meets once a fortnight on a Friday from 11am – 1pm.

Living Well Cancer programme The Well Programme was developed by Derry Well Woman in 1999. Designed for people living with a cancer diagnosis, the Well Programme is a 36-hour behavioural medicine programme, which aims to address all aspects of a woman’s health: mental, emotional and spiritual. The programme provides practical support and tips to support with every day living for those with cancer, alongside positive, healing and life-affirming elements. Sessions are held once a week for 8 weeks, and the programme runs 3 times per year.
Cancer Counselling This counselling service is provided by a specially trained team who have completed a Certificate in Cancer Counselling. Derry Well Women also works in partnership with Action Cancer whose counsellor is available to see the friends, family and carers of those with a cancer diagnosis on a Monday evening.
Complementary Therapies One to one therapies on request for any women with a cancer diagnosis.
