The information is for educational and informational purposes only and has not been reviewed by medical doctors or oncologists. Cancer is a highly complex group of diseases, and it is known to manifest differently in different people, often responding more favourably to individualised approaches to treatment and care. Jane Fior
For the last 22 years, Jane Fior has been working with cancer patients and those close to them in two agency settings, combining this with a general private practice and also editorial work. Her original training was an integrative one and she adapts her approach according to the needs of her clients. Sometimes, short term focussed counselling is all that is required and sometimes, if the difficulties are deep seated, longer term work is appropriate. All such decisions are made in discussion with the client and she aims for dialogue. She sees therapy as an opportunity to voice feelings and problems in a safe, confidential space and as a result face life changes and decisions with greater confidence and sense of control. Dip.Psych. Dip.Couns. Psychotherapist, Psychotherapeutic Counsellor
Jane Fior is one of a group of individual cancer counsellors and psychotherapists in the UK who have been specially selected by Yes to Life on the basis of their suitability. All of this group are fully qualified and insured and have a minimum of 2 years experience of working with and supporting cancer patients and their relatives. When choosing a therapist, apart from confidence in their experience, it is always important to check that you feel comfortable with them. For this reason, it is a good idea to have an initial session before making your decision.
