We Hear You
Profile:

We Hear You (WHY) are a free counselling service for anyone affected by a diagnosis of cancer or other life-threatening illness. This includes family, friends and carers as well as patients. The counsellors are professionally trained, experienced and adhere to the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) or an alternative professional body. WHY’s vision is a world where therapeutic support is available when and where it is needed for everyone affected by cancer and any other life-threatening condition.

Jill Miller founded Positive Action on Cancer (PAC) in 1994 as a telephone helpline for women affected by breast cancer. This developed into a counselling service that later became We Hear You in 2016.

Seeing a counsellor or psychotherapist, who is trained and experienced at working with cancer patients, can help you and others close to you deal with the emotional impact of a cancer diagnosis and help to make sense of the many emotions that you are experiencing.
