Linda Sinclair introduces the Always Hope Support group that she founded and discusses meeting the needs of those with cancer.

Online groups on social media have opened up a whole new arena for exchange of information and mutual support, and although these are often criticised, particularly by those with specialist expertise, the positive effect they can have on someone’s overall wellbeing is extremely significant, particularly for someone who is isolated and unsupported. Groups have facilitated the direct exchange of knowledge, something that was almost impossible previously, and enabled people in difficult situations to find others who have faced the same issues and have experience to share. For her work leading the Always Hope Support group, Linda Sinclair was recently nominated for, and won, the Yes to Life Humanitarian Award.
