Nicola Nuttall heads up a charity doing important research into options for brain cancers and other rare cancers.
The shocking experience of losing her daughter Laura to brain cancer at the age of only 23 propelled Nicola Nuttall to want to create more and better options for treatment. All rarer cancers get scant attention in terms of research and so progress tends to be glacial. Through their own remarkable efforts, the family managed to extend Laura’s life well beyond the confidently predicted survival outcome, so Nicola has no doubt that more can already be done – what is lacking is sufficient evidence of what exactly works and for what cancers. This desperate and urgent need has set the direction for the work of the Be More Laura charity.
