Senior Cancer Nurse Specialist Maria Vega is passionate about the introduction of Integrative Medicine into mainstream oncology. She has broadened her own skills through specialist training in other modalities such as Medical Acupuncture and Oncology Exercise, and uses that training and her position in nursing as a platform to dispense lifestyle advice to her patients. She firmly espouses the benefits that lifestyle and complementary therapies can offer and feels that with lifestyle measures in particular, the most powerful way to inspire change in her patients is to lead by example, and to share her experience of meeting the challenges and gaining the benefits of her own exercise programme.
