Last week was Giving Tuesday, a global day of giving.
Giving Tuesday is a day where everyone, everywhere can do something to support the good causes that are important to them. And at Yes to Life we thought “Why not extend this day to every day of the year?”. So, no year-end appeal from Yes to Life, as from other charities. Just a plea to help us in any way you can.
As you may know, we are in urgent needs of funds to keep working towards our mission of empowering people with cancer to make informed decisions about their care options.
This year has been extremely challenging for Yes to Life, and we were forced to make the drastic decision of cutting down our small personal grants scheme, after helping hundreds of cancer patients over the last 3 years.
It breaks my heart every time I have a call or email asking for help with this scheme, and we have to decline. It is hugely unfair, and I find that it brings me tears of sadness to be unable to assist due to the lack of funding.
