FORCE Cancer Charity

The FORCE (Friends of the Oncology and Radiotherapy Centre, Exeter) Cancer Charity provides free support and information to anyone affected by cancer in Exeter and local community hospitals. They are an independent charity funded by local donations, fundraising, grants, legacies and their award winning shop.

All services are free and available at their relaxed and comfortable centre in Exeter, weekdays except Bank Holidays from 9:30am until 4:30pm. No appointment needed.

FORCE employs experienced Nurses with a background in cancer nursing. The team work closely with hospital staff involved in the treatment of cancer patients and also have links with other cancer charities, which means that if they cannot help immediately, they can usually put you in touch with someone who can.

Counselling for adult cancer patients
Assessments and advice from specialist physiotherapists and exercise professionals
Complementary therapies; massage, aromatherapy massage and reflexology, mindfulness by qualified therapists
Relaxation and anxiety management
Wig fitting services
One-off pampering session that teaches men, women and teens how to manage some of the visible side-effects of their cancer treatment, by specially trained beauty consultants
Moving Forward Programme, a five-week course designed to help people adjust to life after treatment, by an oncology support specialist, an oncology information nurse or a specially trained professional volunteer
Support to people living with non-curable cancer, and retreat days at Buckfast Abbey twice a year
