Lukas Clinic was opened in September 1963 as a department of the Association for Cancer Research (VfK) and pursued the concept of integrative oncology and a close cooperation between conventional medicine and anthroposophic medicine. In April 2013, Lucas Clinic and the neighbouring anthroposophic Ita Wegman Klinik merged to form the Arlesheim Clinic.
