Cancer is a highly complex group of diseases, and it is known to manifest differently in different people, often responding more favourably to individualised approaches to treatment and care. Jenny Phillips
Profile:

Jenny Phillips has a first Degree in Chemistry, an MBA from Henley Business School and a Degree in Nutritional Medicine from Thames Valley University. She is also a qualified yoga teacher. Jenny is a full member of BANT (British Association of Applied Nutrition & Nutritional Therapy) and bound by their Code of Ethics and Practice. She is registered with CNHC (Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council). She herself recovered from cancer in 2003.

Jenny utilises functional medicine and can draw upon extensive clinical testing. Often people with chronic illness tend to demonstrate, at a cellular level, that they have nutritional deficiencies. These could include aspects of energy metabolism, the integrity of cellular membranes, essential fatty acids, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Digestive health and hormonal balance (thyroid, adrenals, oestrogen) can be assessed and supported with nutrients. She also works with people to minimise the side effects of cancer treatment.

Jenny is a founder member of The British Society for Integrative Oncology. She is a yoga teacher and offers retreats for those recovering from cancer and striving to make lifestyle changes that reduce the risk of recurrence.

Notes:

What you choose to eat, drink and even think has a direct effect on your body chemistry, for better or for worse. But with so much conflicting information around food, who can you trust? And how do you put healthy eating into practice? Jenny Phillips published a book to attempt to answer these questions: Eat to OUTSMART Cancer.
