Ellen Waldren
Ellen Waldren is an experienced counsellor who has been helping people through a new and unknown phase in their lives; living with cancer. All those touched by its presence may feel overwhelmed and unsure about the future. It is a time of uncertainty and not knowing, of more questions than answers. Perhaps you are the loved one of a cancer sufferer who needs help and support to understand and cope with your own feelings. You want to say what you feel out loud but don't always say what you really feel because you don't want to upset those close to you and you protect their feelings. People say what they think you want to hear, that everything will be fine. You've been on an emotional roller coaster - the shock of diagnosis, the stress of treatment, the anxiety of hospital appointments, the difficulties of trying to return to a normal life, the fear the cancer will come back. Ellen has had experience of being with people just like you. She won't have all the answers, but she can help you find your own answers. She can give you the space to be yourself, to say how it really is, to get angry, be sad, and be scared, you don't have to protect her from your feelings. You just need to take care of you. Qualifications: MBACP Advanced Diploma in Humanistic Counselling
Ellen Waldren is one of a group of individual cancer counsellors and psychotherapists in the UK who have been specially selected by Yes to Life on the basis of their suitability. All of this group are fully qualified and insured and have a minimum of 2 years experience of working with and supporting cancer patients and their relatives. When choosing a therapist, apart from confidence in their experience, it is always important to check that you feel comfortable with them. For this reason, it is a good idea to have an initial session before making your decision.
