ABOUT
Hayley will be offering four seasonally themed cooking workshops over the year.
During each 90 minute class, Hayley will demonstrate four recipes that are designed to balance and complement the energy of each season. You can choose to cook along with Hayley live or simple watch. There will also be time for theory, questions and interaction.
The focus of the workshops will be on supporting our immune system and nourishing the body during times of seasonal change.
In her classes Hayley also explores ways that cooking can become a therapeutic, mindfulness practice that we embody every day. She shares information around some of the energetic principles of food and cooking, and looks at the benefits of finding joy and pleasure in the sacred act of cooking ourselves a simple meal.
About Hayley North
Hi my name is Hayley and I am a chef, food educator and movement teacher.
My passion for food, cooking, health and the human body have become my life work; emerging naturally from my own personal journey, explorations and growth.
I started working in catering young, aged 14, waiting tables. Since then I have worked in a wide variety of environments including restaurants, cafes, hotels, hospitality & events, schools, markets and travelling festival cafes, children’s care homes, privately in people’s homes, community projects and retreats.
Retreats have been my specialist area for the past 20 years, cooking for groups all over the world. Travel and tradition are also a strong influence on how I cook, as well as my studies in Food Energetics and Five Element Nutrition.
I have also facilitated and led many workshops, retreats and online courses, I offer mentorship to individuals on their food journey and teach for the Northern College of Acupuncture on their Chinese Medicine Nutrition course.
For me everything revolves around food – and what I share has a core emphasis on seasonality, sustainability, food provenance, mindfulness, health, ethics and values, connection and community.
