Role Outline – Volunteer Events Assistant

We are looking for self-motivated and friendly individuals with a can-do attitude to support us with our in-person events.

Our flagship annual conference takes place in central London where we welcome delegates, guest speakers and partners. Event volunteers work with our staff to ensure the event runs as smoothly as possible.

We welcome applicants from all sections of the community and particularly those who have been affected by cancer.

What will you do?

  • The role requires working flexibly and can include a number of tasks throughout the day
    • Managing the front desk and provide a warm welcome
    • Responsibility for handing out names badges and goody bags
    • Managing the Yes to Life stand
    • Directing delegates to workshops etc
    • Supporting delegates with lunch enquiries
    • Supporting sponsors with setting up their stands

Time commitment

You will need to be able to commit to one full day (7am – 7pm). As a volunteer you will be able to enjoy two presentations and/or workshops at the event.

Training, Support and Expenses

You will be required to attend online induction training and have access to ongoing online training to support you in your role.
