‘Yoga Therapeutics’ to help manage symptoms of Lymphoedema
Friday 31st January 10:30am-12pm
Lymphoedema is a swelling that can occur when lymph drainage channels or lymph nodes become blocked, removed, or damaged as a result of cancer or cancer treatment.
This build-up of fluid can feel uncomfortable and heavy. As well as physical symptoms, it can also impact on our emotional well-being.
Yoga Therapy is an holistic and individualised approach; where yoga tools are adapted and applied for a particular outcome.
In this workshop, we will discuss the symptoms and effects of living with lymphoedema, explore principles of safe practice, and experience some simple yoga practices that may help you to manage your symptoms.
No prior experience of yoga is needed, and all practices can be adapted to suit your needs.
Therapeutic Yoga practices can help to:
– Manage some of the physical symptoms of lymphoedema
– Navigate the emotional impact of living with this condition
Jackie is a CNHC registered yoga therapist, and yoga and meditation teacher with over 25 years experience. She has experienced cancer herself, and used yoga therapy to support her throughout her treatments and beyond.
Further workshops to be added soon. Please note each workshop needs to be registered for separately.
