We will facilitate a day of pure compassion for you. Raising money for Yes to Life Charity. The UK’s integrative cancer care charity. This retreat day is in honour of my friend Andy who died from cancer last year. He taught me so much and I promised to do all I could to bring awareness and love to his journey.
The venue is quiet and peaceful, surrounded by beautiful countryside. Lunch, drinks and all sessions are included. There will be space in the day to enjoy the peaceful grounds and take some time for yourself. We ask for a minimum donation of £65 for a ticket, and a maximum donation of £185. Please pay what you can comfortably afford.
Once all costs for the day are covered the remaining amount will be donated to Yes to Life.

Dr Liz Sparkes – A journey to the heart
Liz will facilitate a compassion session and a beautiful heart-based practice, taking you on a journey to the heart with the crystal bowls, shamanic drum and chimes.
Liz Sparkes is a health psychologist, shamanic practitioner and meditation and reiki practitioner. After completing a PhD in Pain Psychology and training to facilitate meditation and mindfulness, Liz dedicated herself to helping others feel more empowered and fulfilled. Liz has developed academic (MSc) and private transformational courses for heart-based living, meditation and compassion, awareness and moon living. Liz works with groups and individuals in workplaces, health settings, charitable organizations and holistic retreats. Liz utilizes a mixture of psychological and ancient spiritual methods for healing and to support living life from the perspective of the heart, gaining greater insight and intuitive trust.
Choden – A session on the essence of compassion
Choden will facilitate a teaching session from the heart, bringing his wisdom on the essence of compassion.
A monk within the Karma Kagyu tradition of Tibetan Buddhism, Choden (aka Sean Mc Govern) completed a three-year, three-month retreat in 1997 and has been a practicing Buddhist since 1985. He is originally from South Africa where he trained as a lawyer and learned meditation under the guidance of Rob Nairn, an internationally renowned Buddhist teacher. He is now involved in developing secular mindfulness and compassion programmes drawing upon the wisdom and methods of the Buddhist tradition, as well as contemporary insights from psychology and neuroscience. He is an honorary fellow of the University of Aberdeen and teaches on their Postgraduate Study Programme in Mindfulness (MSc) that is the first of its kind to include compassion in its curriculum. He co-wrote a book with Paul Gilbert in 2013, entitled Mindful Compassion that explores the interface between Buddhist and Evolutionary approaches to compassion training. He is also the co-author of two other books: Mindfulness Based Living Course (2018) and From Mindfulness to Insight (2019). In 2016 he completed a one-year retreat focused on the foundation practices of Tibetan Buddhism.

Lexi will serve a beautiful, nutritious plant-based lunch in the farmhouse. Her food is prepared using simple, seasonal ingredients and is infused with love. Lexi is a chef and nutritional therapist with over 20 years experience in the catering and wellness industries. Lexi’s Loving Spoonful is her way of sharing the health, happiness and love that can be found in sharing food. Lexi bases her dishes around the seasons. and cooks using only the best quality ingredients that she can find. Her passion is to show you how food can be a truly delicious medicine for both body and soul, and to empower you to be able to enjoy this way of eating all the time.
Adam Bray – Compassionate Breathwork
Adam will lead a breathwork and gentle movement session, bringing you back to the heart of you.
Adam has spent his working life in the motor trade since leaving school, taking on various roles from dealerships to manufacturing. Working hard to get to the top, he always had his heart set on getting there and becoming a service manager of a main dealer. When he finally achieved what he thought was his career goal of becoming service manager and after 5 years of practicing breathwork, he decided to give his goal up to become a SOMA Breath breathwork instructor and cold water exposure coach. He has also been living a barefoot life for around 3 years and is a Vivo barefoot coach. Now, feeling fully aligned and energised, he has clarity and focus, and has truly found his purpose!
His goal is to help as many people as possible become aware of and understand what we, as humans can achieve with our own breath and pushing ourselves beyond our comfort zones.
