Actress, singer and Eastenders legend Samantha Womack has nominated Yes to Life as a candidate for the National Lottery Good Causes Awards this year. This in itself is wonderful for the charity, but with it came a day of publicity in which Sam visited us and spoke about her support for our mission to broadcast and TV media all across Britain, as well as talking about us on Good Morning Britain and on ITV News. This is a level of public exposure we’ve not experienced before, with the potential to substantially increase our profile. By a happy coincidence, this week Sam performed a revival of her 1991 Eurovision entry, ‘A Message to Your Heart’ to a rapturous audience at this year’s competition in Liverpool, which provided an added draw to the media.
Sam found time in between media interviews to chat to the Yes to Life Team, in particular those who have their own experience of cancer, and to discuss her interest in working ongoingly with us. We are beyond delighted that she has accepted our invitation to become a Patron of Yes to Life.
