From 1992, Dr Siegfried Trefzer became a sessional doctor at the Hospital for Integrative Medicine, now part of the University College London Hospital trust. It provided the training sphere for developing his interests in complementary and alternative medical practice including acupuncture, homeopathy, herbal and nutrition medicine. He became a member of the Faculty of Homeopathy in 1993.
While also working as a GP in Richmond during the late 1990s, Dr Trefzer supported a well-known writer who suffered from metastasised breast cancer by co-ordinating her complementary cancer care programme. The story reached the national media and Dr Trefzer gained a reputation for his integrative approach and has been sought out by many chronically ill patients including cancer patients ever since.
Dr Trefzer currently works part-time at University College London Hospital, but mostly focuses his time on Hightree Medical Clinic supporting patients with acute and chronic conditions who are looking for an integrated approach or additional input to their care.
Hightree Medical is an independent and privately run clinical facility nestled in the Sussex countryside on the outskirts of Uckfield. Started by Dr Siegfried Trefzer in 2007, the clinic offers an integrated approach to healthcare, combining conventional medicine with complementary therapies.
