As a Facilitator of a Wigwam Cancer Support Group you not only become part of the Wigwam community, you also become part of the bigger Yes to Life family.
You can become a Wigwammer in your local area with your Wigwam Cancer Support Group affiliated to Wigwam and Yes to Life. This is a key role to help bring people together, encouraging them to share, listen and learn. Every group will be unique depending on the individuals involved. Support Groups can offer a life line to people living with cancer, offering them a sense of community with like-minded people. We ask that you are able to commit to regular groups in order to create a real impact on people’s lives.
“It is possible to start small and build up. We started our group with 3 people and then built up slowly. The group was still very wonderful with only a few of us….Breaks are so important as that is often when folk connect and build relationships” Philip, Stroud Wigwam
“Just do it. Sharing is powerful, educational and takes the scary lonely feelings out and replaces them with strength” Jill, Hertford Wigwam
