Inspire Health

All people over the age of 16 with a diagnosis of cancer may self-refer. No doctor referral is necessary. Those without a cancer diagnosis may participate in the LIFE Webinar Series or become a Support Member to a loved one with a diagnosis. Support Membership includes the signature two-day LIFE Programme and participation in most classes.

InspireHealth’s programmes teach Canadians ways to prevent cancer, alleviate symptoms of cancer treatment, reduce the likelihood of recurrence, and optimise the body’s healing potential. Programming includes consultations with a team of health care providers, and classes that teach the benefits of nutrition, exercise, and emotional and immune support. Services are intended to complement conventional cancer treatments — chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery.

Integrative Cancer Care Programmes: LIFE Program: InspireHealth’s signature two-day programme teaches participants about the body’s innate healing capacity, the latest scientific research in integrative care, and how to incorporate natural approaches to healing with conventional treatments. They use evidence-based natural approaches to recovery that can be safely integrated with conventional cancer treatments. The programming is led by physicians and other health care professionals.

Medical Doctor or Nurse Practitioner Consultation: Members receive an initial 90-minute consultation with a medical professional who reviews health history, provides recommendations regarding integrative health and natural therapies, and coaches patients on safely integrated them in with conventional treatments. Half hour follow up appointments are booked as needed.

Nutrition Consultations: Members receive an initial 75-minute consultation with a nutritionist and half hour follow up appointments as needed. Consultations include an examination of current diet and eating habits, recommendations and discussion around food choices, cooking methods, and food philosophies.

Exercise Therapist Consultations: Members receive a 60-minute initial consultation with an exercise therapist and half hour follow up appointments as needed. An initial assessment is a prerequisite for attendance at the exercise and fitness classes.

Clinical Counsellor Consultations: Members receive an initial 90-minute consultation with a clinical counsellor and half hour follow up appointments for emotional support

Classes: The goal of classes is to complement the whole person approach to health and healing. Classes are only available to members. They include: support groups, cooking classes, nutrition group follow-up, grocery store tours, meditation, yoga, and fitness.

Associate Practitioners: Nutritionists, Clinical Counsellors, and Exercise Therapists

Virtual consultations, online classes and programs are also offered.
