Dr Amy Walker was as shocked and baffled as anyone when, in the midst of her medical career and confident that she was ticking all the right boxes to stay healthy, she was diagnosed with breast cancer, and found herself plunged into the uncertain and frightening world of a cancer patient. Despite her medical experience and qualifications, she found herself subjected to many of the same forces within oncology as anyone else. especially when it came to taking any initiatives to help herself. So impressed was she by the resources available to her and key to her recovery within Integrative Medicine, that, once well again, she charted a new career supporting other women faced with breast cancer with Functional and Integrative Medicine.
